Local Security Management Leaders Complete Certified Protection Professional Training

ROCHESTER, NY – Seventeen security management leaders recently completed an eight-week Certified Protection Professional (CPP) training provided by the local Greater Rochester, NY Chapter of ASIS International.
The CPP certification, considered the “gold standard” for security management professionals, covers security principles and practices, risk management and mitigation, investigations, personnel security, physical security / asset protection, information security, crisis management and the interrelationship of security and general management principles and practices.
The CPP training augments years of experience and equips security management with the strategic and operational frameworks, best practices, and tools necessary to manage the wide range of increased security and safety issues faced daily by corporations, institutions, businesses, and public services.

“The Certified Protection Professional training provides a comprehensive foundation for security management that should be employed by all business and institutions.” said Eric Fuehrer, Chairperson of ASIS Rochester. “We recognize these dedicated individuals for advancing security practices in their organizations and the community at large.”
Based on a grant from ASIS International, this is the first time that the CPP training has been offered locally. The training was led by Karen Jones, CPP, Wegmans Food Markets and Angelo Caruso, CPP, ESL Federal Credit Union. Course participants will now take the ASIS CPP Exam to complete their certification.
